Back to the Basics

Today, our nation is experiencing an unfortunate economic downfall which has caused the loss of jobs and less income. The last thing that seems to be on our minds right now is fashion. Although, fashion does not have to be given up if you know the tricks of the trade. There's no need to continuously buy clothing items as long as you have the basics. The basics are the staples of your fashion wardrobe. They could be a white tailored shirt or simple black pumps. These staples allow your wardrobe to be versatile and can expand your wardrobe without breaking your wallet. For example, the white tailored shirt could be worn in the work place but dressed down for a casual lunch with friends. The black pumps can go from day to night and in almost any situation. I've listed common wardrobe staples below:

  • tailored blazer

  • dress slacks/skirt

  • "the little black dress"

  • tailored shirt

  • leather jacket

  • basic T's

  • jeans

These staples allow you to coordinate new outfits without having to spend max amount of money. Wear the leather jacket with "the little black dress" or with the jeans and a basic T. Thing versatile, thing basic.
